Eagle Rock Quarry

Printer-friendly Version printer-friendly version
Polaris' second quarry development will be the Eagle Rock Quarry, a large granite resource, which is also located on deep tidewater on Vancouver Island and is permitted for a production level of six million tonnes per year. A similar suite of quality tests was performed using the Eagle Rock coarse aggregate in concrete batch tests which, when combined with a fine aggregate known to be a low shrinkage material, produced concrete also meeting the "low shrinkage" designation.

In addition to these concrete tests, the Eagle Rock aggregates were subjected to the California test method CTM302 - Film (Bitumen) Stripping - the results of which demonstrated "No Stripping" thus making the aggregate ideally suited for use in asphalt and coated roadstone applications as well as concrete.

Polaris is committed to seeking market outlets for the Eagle Rock granite at the earliest possible opportunity in order to support a construction decision for this quarry.
