Orca Quarry Products
Polaris is well established as a supplier of high quality sand and gravel concrete aggregates in northern California from the Orca Quarry. These products exceed the specified requirements of the California Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) for use in that state, and the American Society for the Testing of Materials (ASTM) specifications for use in the USA generally. The use of these aggregates in several prestigious and demanding major infrastructure projects in the San Francisco Bay area speaks to the quality of the material. (See Polaris Products at Work). Users benefit particularly from the durability and shape of the mineral particles which allow a very high strength concrete to be produced with the lowest possible cement content, thus offering economic, as well as performance, benefits in many applications. The Orca products have also been used in many projects in Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as in the Vancouver area of British Columbia.

Three products are available from Polaris' Orca Sand & Gravel Quarry: two sizes of gravel and a concrete sand. The quarry focuses on producing a limited number of aggregates in a large, efficient, plant offering benefits of scale.

Eagle Rock Quarry Project Products
Extensive testing of samples obtained from the Eagle Rock Quarry site confirmed the suitability of the granite for use as an aggregate in the manufacture of both concrete and asphalt. Laboratory trial mixes for use in concrete confirmed that this source will also be a very high quality material exceeding CALTRANS and ASTM specification requirements.
