Michael Beley Position: Director
Mr. Beley has over 50 years of experience in the mining industry and is currently a director of Hawthorne Gold Corp. (since June 2006). He is past Chairman and President of Adriana Resources Inc. (2004 to 2009), past director of Nevada Pacific Gold Ltd. (2004 to 2007), and past Vice President, Corporate Development and director of Polaris Minerals Corporation (2000 to 2004), past director of Cardero Resources Corp. (1999 to 2003), and since 1996, Mr. Beley has been a director of Energold Drilling Corp. Mr. Beley was a co-founder of Eldorado Gold Corporation and Bema Gold Corporation. Mr. Beley holds a B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia, is a fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and is past President of the British Columbia and Yukon Chamber of Mines.
Lisa J. Dea Position: Director, Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Dea is a Chartered Accountant who joined Polaris in October 2005 from Deloitte & Touche LLP where she was a senior manager in their Assurance & Advisory division. In her eleven years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, her main focus was auditing and public company reporting in the junior resource mining sector, both in Canada and the United States. Ms. Dea was appointed VP Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Polaris in May 2006.
Marco A. Romero Position: Director and Founder
Mr. Romero is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of diversified experience in the mining and construction materials industries. Mr. Romero is the President and CEO of Delta Minerals Corporation, a mineral exploration and development company. He has held senior roles in exploration, environmental permitting, mine development and operations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and business management. Mr. Romero was the founder of Polaris Minerals Corporation and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2008. He was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. from 1998 to 2000. He was a co-founder and Executive Director of Eldorado Gold Corporation from 1991 to 1998. From 1983 to 1991, he was the founder and head of a mineral exploration consulting firm.
George Speck Position: Chairman and Director
Mr. Speck was born and raised in Alert Bay and holds a BA (Anthropology & History), and the research for his Master's degree, at Simon Fraser University. He became Assistant Band Manager for the 'Namgis First Nation in 1992 and was promoted to the position of 'Namgis Administrator in 2005.
Garry Ullstrom Position: Director
Mr. Ullstrom holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and is the founder of Silvarado Silviculture (now Spectrum Resource Group Inc.). He was Comptroller for Western Canada Wilderness Committee for 14 months then finished articles with Nordahl Craig Chartered Accountants. Mr. Ullstrom commenced employment with 'Namgis First Nation in 1992 as Comptroller and Systems Administrator and now serves as Senior Financial Officer.
Herbert G.A. Wilson Position: Director, President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Wilson has over 35 years of experience in the development and operation of construction materials and industrial minerals operations. Mr. Wilson was a founder, director, Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer of Global Stone Corporation from 1992 to 1998, a Toronto-listed public company producing construction aggregates and lime products. Mr. Wilson is the past President of United States Lime & Minerals Inc. from 1999 to 2000 producing lime products and construction materials from limestone quarries located in the south-central states.
